Workshop
I am planning to hold a workshop on getting started with C++/OpenGL and FreeGLUT. This workshop will be held in three parts as detailed below. I am aiming to have each session be around an hour, possible up to an hour and a half.
Note: skeleton code will be provided to work from, as well as completed examples of the concepts for the sake of time.
Session One: The Basics
During this session, participants will be introduced to the very basics of OpenGL in C++, including the following:
- Basic window creation.
- Using the idle function.
- Drawing basic shapes.
- Understanding viewports.
- Issues of scale, location, etc.
- Setting up a frame rate counter.
