- I plan on making a Windows build with open source software as part of the COSI zoo with Todd.
Meetings
Saturday October 8, 2005 - 12pm-2pm - Installed hard drive in COSI IBM PC (difficult!), GDisked drive,
installed Windows, grub (broken)
Wednesday October 19, 2005 - Installed grub (Pat Wilbur helped), reinstalled Linux, got Windows working, drivers and software needed
November - Got Windows drivers installed, installed some open source software (Mozilla Firefox, PuTTY, WinSCP, etc), tried GeoShell
Zoo Project To Do
1) Make an Open Source Software List with additional software, replacement software
2) Look into using TheOpenCD for some Windows open source software for the build
3) Look into using the Ubuntu Live CD for Windows software, also look at ReactOS
4) Re-install Windows from scratch and install the software from the Open Source Software List
5) Try to remove any proprietary Microsoft Windows software that open source software replaced
6) Make a ghost image of the finished product as a backup, put on other lab computers if desired
