REORG Planning

Initial planning and brainstorming to reorganize COSI .

As graduating seniors we wanted to leave the lab in the best possible condition.

• Created and presented a full reorganization plan for the COSI lab
• Outlined a detailed project timeline
• Developed a new floorplan for better space and accessibility
• Performed major decluttering by grouping, sorting, and storing items appropriately
• Submitted purchase requests for shelving, storage crates, vacuum, cable ties, and organizers
• Inventoried lab assets and designated theme-based locations for better access
• Documented ewaste and prepared items for proper removal

Reorganization Efforts

Over this semester other members and I have worked hard to reorganize the lab.

Here's the long list of things we've completed.

• Contacted custodial about shampooing the carpet
• Confirmed VR headset is working and setup
• Created maintenance reports about securing secondary door and installing wall boards
• Confirmed and removed Ewaste and donations from the room; returned cans and completed FSU runs
• Wiped down surfaces, cleaned windows, and vacuumed all areas (including edges and under desks)
• Sorted and resorted remaining screws; velcroed cables; sorted conference table items and moved them into crates
• Moved desks at entrance, trash and recycling, and display computers to server room wall
• Determined and moved items to/from 2nd Floor SC; set up shelving and sorted cabinets in ITL and server room
• Reorganized wires and cable managed workstations. Installed new powerstips and networking
