NFS Setup process: - On the server: - Modify /etc/exportfs - Format is "/path/to/exported/folder/ address.exported.to(options)" - Options are: - 'ro'/'rw' for read-only/read-write exports - 'sync' - 'root_squash'(default)/'no_root_squash' no_root_squash means that root on the client effecively has root persmissions on the exported files - Run "exportfs -r" - On the client: - Modify /etc/fstab - Format is "nfs.server.address:/path/on/server/ /local/mount/point nfs [rw|ro] 0 0" - Run "mount -a" Current NFS Setup (as of 5/4/2007): - Sever machine: animal - Client machines: 0001 (xen configuration files), mirror (files on mirror) - All nfs is done over the internal network for security reasons (nfs has very little security)
