Projects

This semester I am working with Zach Shepherd and Ryan Kornheisl on our Linux Workshops project. This semester our primary focus is on planning for the bulk of these workshops to be held during the Fall 2007 semester. These workshops will address a number of objectives.

Linux Installation Workshop: 3/03/2007 :: Presentation

Objective 1: Interest

We aim to create and nurture interest in open source software and operating systems. This will be accomplished through a number of workshops which exemplify the benefits of open source software.

Objective 2: Use

It is our goal to broaden the user base of open source software by offering instructional and informational sessions. We want to present open source applications and Linux in such a way that highlights their practicality, ease of use, and general benefits (e.g. free, community driven, etc.). It is our goal to facilitate the transition from proprietary to open source.
