I am a senior computer science student. I am planning on returning to Clarkson University in the fall of 2007 to start work on a master's degree.
Goals
This semester Rouslan Solomakhin and I handed down the directorship of COSI to Ryan Lewis and Pat Wilbur. As a result we tried to help them out when possible by giving suggestions or telling them how directors have done things in the past. Past this, I also helped with getting the labs back to a fully functional state.
Overview
I have:
- Guided Pat and Ryan in the responsibilities of COSI directors when needed.
- Spent time troubleshooting hardware issues and helping to manage servers.
- Compiled information on most of our equipment for display on the website.
- Formed a list of who was using each blade a few times, though I don't believe this list was kept updated.
- Helped with the switch to all Xen virtualized COSI services ( like the COSI http server and such).
- Debugged Xen virtualization issues when possible.
- Was planning on giving an overview presentation of Linux device drivers, but read the first 5 chapters of O'Reilley's Device Drivers book and didn't feel knowledgeable enough to give an adequate overview.
- Helped in learning how to initiate the blade center and the intial steps of using it.
- Participated in the open house.
- Mostly done many small administrative type tasks throughout the semester.
