Todd Deshane COSI Spring 2004: 1 Credit

COSI needed to setup mail aliases to abstract away the different contacts, for example if we wanted to setup an alias for rsvp's it could be rsvp@cosi.clarkson.edu instead of giving out a specific contact. Here is how to set it up on Gentoo

The other projects I worked on were pen2, presentations and the condor cluster.

For pen2, I found a simple example of internationalization:

# Python
import gettext
gettext.install("demoapp", localedir=".", unicode=True)

import Tkinter
t=Tkinter.Label(text=_("Hello, World"))
t.pack()
b=Tkinter.Button(text=_("Close"), command=t.tk.quit)
b.pack()

t.tk.mainloop()

Save this as a.py, and invoke

# Shell Command Line
xgettext a.py

For the condor cluster, I ghosted the itl computers with the condor software.

For presentations, I worked on novell/ldap authentication that didn't come easy for me. I got some documentation links from Jason and found some online and with some help from Kyle we got an LDAP server running and started testing it. I have some links that I used throughout the process that may be useful when this project gets picked up in the fall:
