COSI LOGO

MY COSI Experience

COSI work I have done includes working on a logo -The old logo was unable to be resized therefore made it difficult to simply/alter it -Using photoshop created a new COSI logo that included a large mouse with neon buttons and a COSI golden knight holding a COSI flag. - I also created some flyers that would be used in drawing people into the meetings with a more colorful eye catching look. -After meeting with the PR team, we decided that the mouse included in the logo was a little too much and that I needed to clean up the edges etc. to make my drawing look a little cleaner. My next project was to work on flyers that have a catchy advertisement theme to them ... similar to the Mastercard ads. In an effort to pull in people of different genders, racial backgrounds, and different majors I made a collage of pictures that were on the web site that showed that COSI is growing as far as diversity is concerned. I also included the website, and the different teams there are within COSI to join. This poster after being critiqued by the PR team will be hung in the lab window to draw in new commers. Our next big mission was the IT seminar for professionals within the community. There was a lot of planning that needs to be put into this event my job, as part of the PR team is to help out with...
  • Get together directions on how to get Clarkson (yahoo, clarkson)
  • Work on signs to direct professionals from parking lot to destination
  • Find out where professionals are able to park
  • Supply participants with Refresher website so they can brush up on skills
  • Make sure that we have correct contact information
  • A survey has to be written to asses what was done well and what has to be improved to be more successful for years to come.
  • RSVP's will be sent to me, it is my responsibility to keep up with who has RSVP and who hasnt
  • I will also be responsible for making sure that participants have correct information and make sure I ans any last minute questions comments or concerns they might have.

Unfortunately the Semiar didn't go through for this semester so we were planning for next semester. I created a survey for the IT Professionals to take to evaluate the entire Seminar so that we could make needed changes for next year. I also thought it would be a nice idea to have a COSI letter head when sending all the information out IT professionals so I created something with the logo and contact information on it. In order to further get the COSI name out I created a COSI brochure that can be given out at activity fairs or when people stop by the lab etc. it includes COSI history, taking COSI for credit, COSI projects etc. This is still being revised by the PR team for any errors or needed corrections that need to be made. These were just PR things I did, in some of the meetings we were walked through technical processes such as backing up a machine 'hostname'_ backup yyymm_dd.tar there are more steps I took notes. All in all although I was the only girl that attended most of the COSI meetings, and hopefully next semester with all of our marketing efforts there will be a change and we can see some new faces from all over campus. I would also have to say that it was a pleasure working with COSI this semester. I have given my teamleader Mike a folder with copies of everything but we decided that it would be a good idea that I put everything on a CD so that it can be used and altered for years to come to help COSI in its marketing efforts.
