I have given a few on part requests and project updates for Elephant/Ampersand.
I have helped teach multiple people things from/on C++ that they were having issues with. Additionaly I have taught people new to COSI about what we do and about computer hardware. Other things I have thaught about include:
TBD. Still somewhat being worked on.
I was given a tour of COLO by Chris and helped document the hardware that Elephant (probably incorect spelling) has.
Jonathan helped me remove Elephant from COLO so that I could work on getting it set up with Ampersand to be a backup server for COSI.
I have at least started to be a part of the planned networking overhall that Chris is planning and helping to consult because of prior experiance with building my own router.
I also have been participating in Jonathan's networking after meeting slots.
I have started work on trying to get Obsidian to boot into a functional OS and so far have run into multiple issues just trying to install an OS onto it.
I have been working on Ampersand and have been able to get it to boot and then also conenct to it. I also started on figuring out how to manage it and set it up as a iSCSi JBOD share for another server to utalize because of being unable to run it as a normal NAS.
I have been waiting on some parts before being able to install a new OS on Elephant and then setting it up to take in the iSCSi JBOD from Ampersand and use it along with it's 8 local HDD's to be a backup storage server for the labs.
I am currently running a NAS that has TrueNAS Scale as its OS and have been spending a lot of time working on getting it and 10 gigibit networking set up.
I run a DNS server which will automaticly block advertisments on the domain level due to it being PiHole.
I have made a minecraft server with bungeecord but it no longer exists due to the data loss and due to me setting it up in a very insecure manner which I did not maintain.
I have plans to remake it in a secure manner and also make servers for other games too.
I set up a Satisfactory game server on a non-LTS version of Ubuntu and have been working on making it so that I can update it becaues by not having it on a LTS version it can no longer update and stopped working. I have tried updating to Ubuntu 22 but have been unable to because of needing to increase a partition size of one of the partitions so that there is enough free space to do the update.
Have tried setting up a PostgreSQL server to then use in other server projects but have been unable to do so.
TBD.
TBD.
I currently have plans to set up the following servers:
Due to me wanting to run my own BeamNG MP server and do some very weird things with Domains and connecting to the server. The other Graham advised me that the thing I should take a look at due to it being the most likly option to allow me to do what I wanted was SRV reccords. I asked on the Github page for the software if it supported SRV reccords. Due to their responce, I will help them figure out and implement SRV reccords into the software, once I get my servers fully operational again.
TBD
