Workshop

Ran a Linux workshop for CS141 and CS142 students via Zoom. Six or so people attended. I covered the use of Git, Make and manpages.

Infrastructure

Eldwyn

Migrated Eldwyn to NixOs 20.03 where it now acts as a VM host for the labs.

Tiamat

Migrated Tiamat from Ubuntu 19.04 to NixOS 20.03. It is continuing to be a VM host.

Prometheus/Red Dwarf/Norm

General system adminstration for Jeanna's Research group and making sure nothing catches on fire.

Mirror

Maintained Mirror from the summer to now. Performed an update on it and added MSYS2 to the list of software packages.

Other

• Rearranged the bookshelves to be sorted by course and filtered out some older books.
• Convinced a few computers that didn't feel like displaying video to display video.
• Decommissioned a UPS that was at the end of its life.
• Gave a server room tour during one of the meetings.
• Helped with the marketing video.

FOSS

Hacktoberfest

Pushed four PRs on Github for the Hacktoberfest event.

Electrical Age

• Solved an elusive bug with DC/DC converters causing huge current spikes
• Helped refactor recipes for a new version.
• Eliminated duplicates of a Thevenin solver and optimized the one that remained.
