Lab Director
Being Lab Director during COVID has been an experience. Mostly I've been doing the following:
- Listening to suggestions
- Seeking feedback and gathering opinions
- Vibe checking your email inbox
- Keeping track of who is using the lab
- Adding forum topics
- Administrating the mailing list subscriptions
I'm also meeting minutes
There are some more lab director adjacent things, attending open houses, giving tours and generally talking highly of the labs.
Discord
I spent a lot of time creating the Official COSI Discord, happily there hasn't been a need to moderate it! Reminder to chip in suggestions for how to use the server over break.
Dubsdot 2
Replacement in works to the aging and scary Dubsdot VM. Basically it will be Docker & NGINX with some nice quality of life
features and won't scream at you about how NPM is years out of date. I've picked out software and have even thought of fair protocols around usage.
High on my list next semester and with Ryan's return it'll be fun.
Bias in Human Languages Research
Research has been one of my largest commitments since the summer when I joined. Mostly I write experiments, read documentation
work to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying math and communicate with others.

The soup search has been running for a long time
I'm thinking of concluding the current process to strategize. 1 core isn't fast enough to gain on any of the contributors and
I would like COSI's name to be visible on the leaderboard.
