Current Project:

I am currently trying to learn the basics of Perl for simple scripting. I have some basic knowledge of PHP, which I used with basic text manipulation commands to create a text forum, allowing users to post whatever they want. I am hoping to have a project similar in scope this semester, working with Perl to create something web based.

As of now, I am considering creating a tag based system of classifying movies, similar to that of imdb, and having a script to search movies from a database based on options specified. I have been quite busy but am hoping to get farther on this project soon.

I know how to do print "Hello World"; Starting with a basic hello world will hopefully allow me to get more motivition to play around with programming is Perl a little more.

I'm quite intrigued by the so called TIMTOWDI aspect of Perl program, I love the open endedness of the languaged. I'm also starting to look into using perl for its powerful file processing uses.
