My Projects

Linux Cluster

We are building a cluster out of all the lab machines. It will run LAM and MPI on it. This seems to be what most teachers are familiar with. My project is to mainly write a queuing system that is easy to use and maintain. This semester a team has formed to really get things accomplished. See: COSI Projects Page

XEN

Currently learning about virtualization with Xen. See the paper on Xen and the Art of Repeated Research or Xen at Clarkson or even the wiki page: Xen, wikipedia for some starting places

Gedit -- LaTeX Plugin

Gedit is a text editor commonly used with Gnome, but it is often found in other window managers as well. LaTeX is a typesetting tool commonly used to write mathematical papers, but it can be used for anything text related. The problem is that often LaTeX files are even messier than source code (found in CS141! -- but you didn't hear that from me), so Gedit has a plugin that has auto-complete features, syntax highlighting, and compiling options. It is very handing and in much demand. See: LaTeX Plugin for details!
