This semester is much like the last for me, as I am still the maintainer of the COSI lab's Fedora build. Since it is mostly stable from the work last semester, there hasn't been too much to do...but that will all change when Fedora Core 6 comes out! I will need to go through all the motions of getting AFS working (or possibly not, this still needs to be talked about), bug crushing, etc, etc.
UPDATE: Fedora Core 6 was released and it is currently installed on all the computers in COSI. AFS is currently functioning on it as well as an awesome program called Beryl. Beryl is a fork of Compiz and instead of requireing an XGL server, it uses just a standard X11R7 module called AIGLX. Therefore, since FC6 comes with Xorg 7.1, the only thing that you need to go is get hardware acceleration working then install the beryl/emerald RPMs. Also, I plan on ghosting the box running FC6 to a few more computers so people can bug test it.
UPDATE #2 - About the Build
I am also keeping the COSI webserver up and running. This includes maintaining Planet, the main page, mantis, and a few other apps. Again, this hasn't been too troublesome thanks to the efforts put forth last semester.
Lastly, I am working on a joint project for a good grade in HCI and to ease the job of administering a lab of Linux based machines. It is a web based remote administration utility for admins to use to complete tasks that might otherwise require them to physically be in the lab. An example of this type of situation is machien ghosting.
I have also attended both open houses this semester as well as given a presentation with Jeremy Bongio on our summer in Poughkeepsie.
