Grading

Tentative grade breakdown:

Late Policy and Other Special Circumstances

If you complete an assignment late, you can send an email saying that the work has been submitted. I don't generally promise to accept late work but sometimes do especially if it comes in before grading starts. No matter when late work is submitted, the teaching staff will do our best to grade it and tell you what your grade would have been, enabling you to ask for those points back at the end of the semester, even if the score is recorded as a zero until then. In that circumstance, your goal should be to ask for an email or other documentation saying what your grade would have been. At the end of the semester, I give students an opportunity to submit letters or explanatory notes describing any special circumstances you would like me to consider when calculating your grade. I usually ask that these letters be submitted in hard copy at the final exam, but other arrangements can be made if you are not attending the final exam in person. The topic of this letter can be any type of special circumstance you would like me to consider, but in particular you can print and attach the documentation of what grade you would have received for any late work and explain the circumstances surrounding that late work. Before assigning final grades, I will read through any special circumstances letters and consider reinstating or dropping the score for late work, especially if it was an isolated incident.

Academic Integrity

All work you submit must be your own individual work unless explictly indicated. In particular, work taken from books, the Internet, other students or any other source may not be submitted as your own. You are always better to err on the side of acknowledging sources and collaborations!!!

It is also an academic integrity violation for you to give your work to others. This includes sharing materials privately as well as making assignments available in Github or other public repositories.

Additional information about rights, obligations and procedures related to academic integrity can be found in Section IV of Clarkson's official regulations.
